Detector, Gas, – Honeywell Sensepoint XCD
DESCRIPTION
The Honeywell Sensepoint XCD fixed gas detector is used to monitor areas where flammable gases, toxic gases and oxygen deficiency may pose hazards to working environments. Honeywell Sensepoint XCD detectors offer high performance and reliability and are designed for a broad spectrum of industrial applications with a comprehensive choice of features and benefits in a truly cost effective package.
The Sensepoint XCD uses three instantly recognizable colors to indicate status on a large tri-color backlit LCD. This allows anyone to clearly see the status of any detector. Steady green indicates normal operation, flashing yellow indicates fault and flashing red indicates alarm.
All detectors are supplied preconfigured and include (2) programmable alarm relays, 1 programmable fault relay, as well as a 4-20mA output and MODBUS. There are three different types of the XCD transmitter for use with three different families of sensors.
The mV type transmitter is for use with the mV family of XCD sensors including catalytic sensors to detect flammable gases and infrared (IR) sensors for detection of hydrocarbon gases. Two IR hydrocarbon sensors are available; one linearised to methane and one linearised to propane. the propane version has linear cross sensitivities factors for ethylene, butane and pentane. There is also an IR CO2 sensor available.
The EC type transmitter is for use with the EC family of XCD sensors including carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide, nitrogen dioxide and hydrogen. The oxygen transmitter is for use with the oxygen XCD sensors.
A transmitter can auto-recognize any sensor from within its sensor family. The sensor simply plugs into the bottom of the transmitter and the transmitter automatically configures itself accordingly.
