A quarter turn valve which uses a hollow, perforated and pivoting ball to control flow through it. When the handle lies in alignment with the directional flow, this indicates the ball’s hole is in line and allowing flow. It is closed when pivoted 90-degrees by the valve handle, perpendicular to the directional flow, making for easy visual confirmation of the valve’s status. For Industrial Applications.
The threads on the standard ball valves are all BSP female tapered. The majority of threaded pvc components connected to valves are themselves BSP tapered (male). Fittings a tapered male to a tapered female give an increased contact area and more likelihood of a successful seal. In contrast, fitting a tapered male thread to a parallel female often results in a weeping or dripping joint due to the small contact area of the threads.

If connecting a parallel thread, it is recommended that you purchase a plain valve and a spigot
PTFE Tape – ALL threads should be wrap with a small amount of PTFE tape around the male thread, this prevents fluid passing the through the thread.
